- Born with congenital amputation of both legs
- Was a successful track athlete and wrestler in his youth
- Authored his autobiography From the Ground Up at 17 years old
- Works for the Secret Service as a Personnel Security Specialist in the Office of Human Resources
- Passionate advocate for employment opportunities for people with disabilities
- Volunteers as an assistant coach for the Edinboro University Wheelchair Basketball Team
- An inspiring speaker with the ability to connect with a wide range of audiences, including children, athletes, corporate executives, and government officials
- Father of two children who are active in many sports
